Extrapharma has been audited by QUAMED and Relief International Organization on 25th March 2023.
The assessment findings results have been clearly approved that distribution sites of Extrapharma
are with the acceptable level of GSDP compliance (Global GSDP compliance during a GSDP
technical visit).
It’s noteworthy that the summary of the shared report has mentioned that :
Extrapharma was established in 2010, both headquarters and the warehouse are established in
Sana'a. Currently, thirty people are employed. On the procurement side, World of drugs, mainly
purchase internationally from reputable and authorized manufacturers, and additionally smallscale
purchasing from domestic wholesalers occur.
Extrapharma is the official agent for 3M Health care. On the selling side,Extrapharma supplies
public health institutions (like hospitals), UN organizations (WHO,UNICEF, UNFPA) and INGO’s like
ICRC, IMC, ADRA,MSF,IFRC,MEDAIR,IOM, among others.
Extrapharma deals in Pharmaceuticals, Medical Equipment (Laboratory, Hospital), Medical
devices together with its supplies and consumables and Medical supplies.
Partners in health may be interested in this offer as long as it meets the norms and standards.
The quality management system is quite comprehensive as well, Extrapharma is ISO certificated
from TUV Austria . The company chart shows the presence of an independent QA Department,
the department is managed by the Head of QA. Job descriptions are available and have been
presented. There is a warehouse of around 400m² at a height of +/- 6.00m. which is constructed
in a typical warehouse building.
Goods are mainly stacked in adequate pallet racking, larger equipments are stored on pallets.
During the visit, the warehouse was below its storage capacity and more goods could be stored
without any problem.
There are reception, preparation and dispatch areas, which are specifically demarcated.
There are specific quarantine and declassified products areas as well , Warehouse is mechanical
air conditioned (wall mounted air conditioners), which in capacity seems to be on the low side but
this has no real impact on temperature management since high temperature isn't a particular
issue in the Sana'a region. Temperature is monitored and recorded but number of monitoring
points is on the low side, humidity is monitored and recorded.
The inventory management is computerized with a tailor-made domestic software (Modern Soft).
The software registers batch numbers and expiry dates which are stored in the database and
printed on different documents which ensure product traceability in the supply chain under a
qualified supply chain service provider responsibilities.
There is a clearly designated order preparation, pack and dispatch area.
Shipment is done with documents and any relevant required authorizations.
